Hello Families,

I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to come on here and update everyone as much as I can for our super important next few weeks.

Upcoming Events

• Next Practice
  • This is Required for our Region Team Only. If your child does not make our Region Team, they are officially done with their season (more on that below).
  • Sunday, January 19th
  • Swim from 5p-7p
  • Dive from 5p-7p (we will start earlier than our normal 6p-7p practice time).
• Pasta Party
  • Our team pasta party will happen on Monday, January 20th at Transy (there is no school on this day). This is open to both Region and Non-Region Team Members and we encourage all of our athletes to attend. We ask that all attending athletes arrive around 12:30p and enter in the door we usually come through when going to practice. We should be done around 2:30p.
  • If your child is attending and you missed the RSVP deadline, please text me ASAP and let me know.
• Region Team Announcement
  • We will announce the Region Team Sunday afternoon via email. I do apologize for the late notice right before our practice Sunday evening, but we do have some club swimmers competing this weekend and wanted to give them an opportunity to improve their times and earn a spot our team.
  • Please know that the coaches would love to take everyone on our team if we could. We love each and every person on our team and our decision is completely based on what gives our team the best chance to succeed (which is time for swim, score for dive). It's not a reflection on someone's personality or their likability. 
  • If your child does not earn a spot on our team, please don't take it personally. We have had several athletes in the past who did not make it one year, only to work hard and earn a spot on our team the following year. We have a very young and competitive team (a good problem for a coach to have) and we want everyone to continue representing Lafayette, regardless of if your child makes it this season or not.
• Region Meet
  • Dive will be Wednesday, January 22nd in Louisville
  • Swim will be on Friday January 24th and Saturday, January 25th in Barbourville. More info to come soon.
